One of the reasons why so few people, in this society, are healthy, is because physical health is all they think about. If you listen to most people about health, they consider physical exercise first and then the right foods next. This might be the case with our physical body, but health includes way more than that. Emotional health, as well as mental health, are both necessary to be completely healthy. Maybe not in every instance can you change how you feel, you can at least control your feelings. Both your mental health, and you emotional health can be made better by doing various things. These are a few of the many things you can try.

Each sense has a variety of uses. Each sense can be used many ways. Your mind and emotions are dependent on the senses a lot, so use them when you are feeling down. If you like reading, go to a library or a bookstore. There are clothes that feel good on your skin when you wear them. Your house should have fresh air and lots of green plants. Good tasting food makes you feel better. All of these things matter in helping yourself feel happy, which makes it easier to improve your mental and emotional health. They make you feel energized and help you stay calm. Find something to create or produce, and you will feel better. This doesn't mean that you need to do them for profit-even as a hobby, doing things that help you feel productive and creative can improve your mental and emotional health. When you write a book, or create a garden, you are creating something from nothing, which allows your imagination to be used, and also a sense of accomplishment is given to your brain. Both of these things are important in helping to balance out your mental and emotional health. Your emotional and mental health is also improved by being productive.

Get a pet. Research has shown that owning a pet will give elderly people better health. This only works on the elderly. When you need a pet and they need you, the unconditional love experienced, along with the mutual bond, will raise the mood of all concerned. Anything is better than living alone, even having only a fish. You can feel better mentally and emotionally, but you are going to have to pick the things to do.
